Shopping Edit // Crushing On: Winter Essentials

Winter has well and truly hit Adelaide (OK OK I can hear Northern Hemisphere peeps laughing!). The beach towels and swimmers have been packed away, and the winter woollies and fluffy slippers have assumed prime position for the next few months. I'm a summer girl at heart, give me the beach any day, but I'm beginning to love the cooler months more and more the older I get. As soon as the cooler climate hits it's PJ's, heater cranked up, candles lit, warm comfort food and steaming mugs of hot chocolate on the daily. I was a winter baby so maybe that explains it. For me, winter is all about comfort, textures and staying indoors with the things I love. Like my electric blanket! Here are my winter essentials for a cosy and warm season ahead.

And stay tuned to my Instagram because I'm giving away some of these lovely winter essentials for one lucky follower!

This chunky knit throw blanket made of Australian Merino is the stuff of winter dreams. Talk about comfort and texture, this is it. Perfect as a throw or bed end for layering with your linen.

My son, Max, started school this year and one thing it has highlighted to me is the need for comfortable footwear, especially during the winter months (and a big ol' umbrella!). Enter the Hobe's Wooly Hobe. Better looking than an Ugg (obvs) with all the comfort and warmth of one. Need a pair stat. I have a pair of the Women's Boat Hobe and they are super comfy. These woolen ones happen to be on sale now!

All of them. Getting my 'hygge' on this winter. Hygge is a Danish concept, look it up. It's about getting cosy, creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life. And life is too short to not have ALL the candles. I can vouch for the Palm Beach and Bonfire Candle Co candles. I have the vintage gardenia from Palm Beach Collection, and warm spice from Bonfire Candle Co, both very different fragrances but dotted all over the place, my home is smelling divine (counteracts the poopy nappy smell just nicely I must say!).

Palm Beach Collection, available online and via Freedom.

Bonfire Candle Co, available online.

Gloves, Handbags, Jackets, Boots. Layer with knits and denim for added warmth and uber style. They didn't write the lyrics "I can do anything i want because I look good in leather" for nothing!

I bought this grey knit in Port Elliot and I absolutely love it. It's oversized, ultra comfy, warm and will be a staple for winters to come. Perfect for weekends, school runs and general on-the-go.

Winter is the perfect time to stay indoors and catch up on the things we love. A rainy day is the perfect excuse to stay indoors and catch up on reading, writing, watching movies, crafting with the littles and pottering around the house. Dan 300 makes fun and stylish stationary that will make you want to plan and write those to-do lists while it's bucketing down outside and the kettle is on.
